Description
This posable frog was needle felted over a wire armature. The frog’s skin was then wet felted in two pieces (top and belly). Once dry the skin was attached via needle felting. There is a small amount of wax on each toe too.
I used wire armature, core wool, wool silk blend, silk, and wool nepps to make this project. It was a super fun project made with the help of a Sarafina Fiber Arts tutorial.
In case you are interested, needle felting compresses wool into shapes with a special barbed needle. Wet felting uses soap and water to make felt. This project took about 4 hours to complete (not counting drying time).
