Description

These tulips are made from wool, silk, some wire, and a little glue.  It is quiet a process to felt a tulip.  I started by wet felting a piece of fabric, one for each color of flower that I wanted plus green for leaves.  Once that was dry, I cut it into the leaf or petal shape (two sizes of petals for each flower).  The cut petals and leaves then needed to be wet felted again to seal the edges.  The wet petals were laid out over a golf ball to help give it the perfect curve of a flower petal.

As the petals and leaves were drying I wrapped a piece of wire with green wool and a little silk to make the stem.  That was then wet felted separately and left to dry.  Once all pieces were dry, I needle felted the leaves to the stems then added three small petals followed by three larger petals.  Finally, I took some smaller wire in short little pieces, put a little glue on half of the wire and wrapped it in yellow silk fibers to make stamen.  The stamen were then super glued onto the flower.

It’s a tedious yet fun process.  I didn’t really have a tutorial to follow on this project so I put together pieces of other projects to make some fairly realistic looking tulips.

This posting is for a bundle of six (6).  There are other postings on my site for purchasing a single tulip or a bundle of twelve (12) tulips as well.  NOTE: Photo shown on this posting is for 12 but you will be sent 6 if you use this listing to purchase.
